How to connect 2 appliance's waste pipes of different sizes

by martin_y » Sun Nov 07, 2010 4:59 am

Hi all
I have 2 machine that require a waste outlet - a washing machine and a dishwasher.

But the waste pipes are different diameters - it seems my washing machine has the standard of 25mm or so. But my dishwasher (bosch) has about a 22 mm diameter pipe. (I suspect the inner diameter is 19)

Then I have a spigot thats on the outlet for the sink, and that seems to be 25mm.

So I popped down to my local B+Q expecting (perhaps niaively!) to be able to by a T piece or Y pipe that would connect my 2 machines. Well I could not find any for ANY size.

I guess I need to somehow convert the 22 to a 25 somehow?
Why dont they sell a Y piece for outlets, surely i am not the only person with this requirement?

Do you think I will need to open up the Dishwasher and see if I can fit a 25mm pipe somehow?

Thanks for any replies!

Easiest way is to install a new waste with a stand pipe. http://lh4.googleusercontent.com/public ... Ws4XANtlXQ such as this, the hose will then just sit in the pipe.

Thanks HTG
I'd kind of resigned myself to that fact.
