SuperFoil or not so SuperFoil

by Quint1983 » Mon Nov 01, 2010 3:13 pm

I was doing a small loft conversion my merchant persuaded me to use SuperFoil 19, which I did…
When my local building control inspector paid his first visit he asked me to provide “Hotbox test report” so I went about trying to locate a copy from my supplier and from the manufacture (Boulder developments) it was impossible to obtain. I ended up giving up and removing the material at my own cost. Has anyone else had this issue with SuperFoil.
I would strongly recommend to anyone using a multifoil to ensure they obtain a hot box test report from the manufacture before buying and definitely installing the product.

I have been doing some reserch and BR443 requires the product to be tested by an European Notified Test Body. SuperFoil is not.

Hi

I know all probably ok now, but these foils do not appear to have independent accreditation, this is what is causing the problem, it is the companies who make the materials that are certifying them.
