Plastering & Coving

by mac10biker » Tue Jun 26, 2007 5:23 pm

I am after some advice with regards to fixing a plasterboard ceiling that has a light artex stipple on it and some standard gyproc coving. There is a small section to be repaired in the middle (beside the light fitting) and then the ceiling needs to be skimmed. Is it possible to skim up to the edge without taking the coving down or would the coving need to be replaced if the ceiling is skimmed?

Many Thanks!!
Paul

You can overskimm up to your coving just use a wet paint brush to tidy up the edges when your trowelling up. your coving will be afected by the thickness of your skimming over artex but you should have enough left to make it look right.

Hope this helps
