COLD WATER RUNS SLOW ON KITCHEN MIXER TAP

by gally56 » Wed Jun 27, 2007 1:34 pm

Hi, our mixer tap in thh kitchen is running slowly. run the hot water and the presuure is fine and the water cascdes through all the holes at th end of the spout"
run the cold water and the water runs very slowly with not much volume and the water seems to only come through the middle holes at the end of the spout.
If i pull up the cold water tap i can get a stronger bit of pressure but the water still comes out running "thinly"

your mixer tap is working fine the modern mixers dont mix the water in the tap itself as unbalanced supplies (mains cold water and tank fed hot ) the cold can push the hot back up the pipes , you most proberly have flexi hoses on the tap supply pipes ckeck that there is not a twist or a kink in the cold supply , do you have any other cold mains taps in the house and are they working with a good presure ?
