Single Skin Garage wall help

by jamiethesignfitter » Sat Jan 01, 2011 10:31 am

I am converting my garage into an office space, the walls are not particulerly damp, and it is built onto the side of the house.

I only plan to spend a couple of hours a day in there and the garage is all ready well ventilated.

I am raising the floor up on a raft but was wondering what to do with the wall furthest from the house.

Would it be sufficient to cover the wall with thermal laminate plasterboard, by means of mechanical fixing or adhesive.

Or would it be best to cover the wall with a polythene membrane then batten with polystyrene in between then cover with plaster board.

Or none of the above?

This room will only be used for 3 years max then will have to be removed to make way for the extension.
