You didn't say whether the heating pipes burst or the cold mains/ hot water pipes burst.
What boiler do you have? I'm guessing you have a combi boiler?
Check controls on boiler - is the hot water knob (if fitted) turned up?
If it was a cold mains pipe, there may be dirt that has partially blocked the plate heat exchanger in the boiler.
If you run the hot tap on full, does the burner on the boiler go on/off and on again every so often? If so, the thermostat is low or the plate heat exchanger may be blocked. It may be blocked on the heating side and/ or the hot water side.
If it's not a combi, I would guess there's an airlock in your cylinder coil after the system was drained.
