New MDPE water main fittings

by bobbie » Wed Jun 27, 2007 6:57 am

I am replacing my water main with 25mm MDPE pipe which is coming up vertically, at the required depth in my garage extension, vertically inside a 4" rainwater pipe.

I plan to connect it to the garage tap spur off the old main and disconnect the old main by permanently turning off the old stop tap.

What fittings do I need on the end of the 25mm MDPE? Is it just a stop tap on the MDPE pipe and then something to reduce to the 15mm copper pipe?

Thanks

Stop tap

I would run as far as poss. in 22mm copper. Under water regulations you should fit a means of draining the system as soon as possible after the stop tap. You can get an MPDE stop tap that is push fit and goes down to 22mm or 15mm the choice is yours!!!
