by stacefan » Mon Feb 07, 2011 4:15 pm

how do i know what is best for my space? is it purely a preference of aesthetics? or are there practical elements to consider too?

Hi stacefan, it comes down to your taste in the end. Without a bit more info you are not giving much away here. There can be practical elements but need to know a bit more first.

Paint is cheaper paper is more expensive but advantages are it can hide small defects and in some cases hold the walls together.

It might be a good idea to try paint first and if you aren't happy with the cheaper option then you could always paper over it. At Little Greene (littlegreene.com) they offer sample wallpaper and paint pots so why not check these out:

Hi Rob, Little Green are a bit on the expensive side. If stacefan wants to try it with sample wallpaper or paint pots then B&Q do exactly the same. You can take away samples of wallpaper free and buy small pots of paint for about £1.
