I am new to this forum and I would be very happy to have your opinions as I am totally useless at DIY! :oops:
I am not 100% that I posting in the correct forum so if not, please let me know.

We are looking at buying a house. The loft has been converted few years ago and is now heated with under floor system (but I don’t know yet if electric or water) covered with laminated.
If we buy this house, we are planning to split this room in two bedrooms and create an small en-suite with a shower (not a bathtub).

My question is: how do you do this with the under floor heating?
Do you need to remove it? And can you remove it without damaging it?

I guess that you cannot build partition wall directly on the heating system so what would be the best solution?

If we cannot do the 2 bedrooms for a reasonable cost, the house will not meet our criteria... so I really need your advices!

Depanding on the type of UFH it may be possible but you would need to remove the laminate flooring to see what type of UFH is fitted.

Looking at the way it is done, I guess it is a electric one.

So, what would be our options?
Should we take the laminate flooring out completely first?

I have no idea how we should proced...

And any idea of cost involve?

Assuming its electric UFH - remove the laminate flooring, remove or relocate the wires, build the partition wall, relay the laminate. Cost could be anything, depends on room size, type of laminate, type of UFH .....
