Decking on a terraced garden

by BristolGuy » Tue Mar 15, 2011 9:56 pm

Hi. Our back garden is terraced down a hillside. Top level (concrete path) is same as the house, middle level (4' lower) is paved and bottom (4' lower) is the lawn. We would like to extend the top level out over the 2nd tier with decking. Decking would not be seen by neighbours and would not cover anything like 50% of the garden. No nearby road. Do I need planning permission?

Check with your local planning department as there is a 300mm hight restriction on decking.

Thanks for the reply. I know about the 300mm..but it would be at the same level as ground level: ie: the top tier....
