I am fitting a u-shaped kitchen with new units. The back wall is 2980 mm long and i would like to fit 3 x 600 mm units leaving 1180 mm less approx 100 mm for corner posts, which leaves 1080 mm for the two units which go along the walls either side. Can I trim the sides of the carcases to allow me fit everything in , it may also be possible to remove the plaster along one wall. If I use 2x 600 & 1 x 500 units as before there is a gap to be filled which is not as pleasing to the eye as a uniform 3 x 600 mm. Please tell me it is this easy to do Thanks Steve. :?

No reason why you can't cut down the unit, provided that the cut section flies past another unit.

In other words the cut section forms a corner unit and is hidden up in the back corner. Otherwise you are going to have to cut the door down which rarely if ever works out satisfactorily.

Chris thanks for your reply. The ends of the cut units will be hidden by appliances on the end , so will not be seen . Once again thanks for your advice. :)

i might of looked at putting in a tray space for a 100mm gap.i cant quite picture what your doing tho.
