plastic windows cill drainage

by bobble » Fri Apr 08, 2011 4:24 pm

I have specified plastic windows directly onto a concrete cill without a plastic cill. The contractor has installed windows with bottom drainage instead of face drainage. The contractor has ceased trading. I am arguing with the manufacturer that they should have provided face drainage in windows supplied without a cill. Am I right?

face drain cills

the contract was between the supplier and the contractor sounds like the contractor was at fault, unless you can find a specific paper stating said cills, unfortunatly there is not a lot you can do.

Window cills are designed and fitted with good reason.
Without the offset and drip of a window cill, the vast quantities of rain will run into the wall making it damp.
Most builders yards, and Wicks have window cills.
