I have one of these with an oval containing a sliver oval ring and the two flush buttons.

anyone know how to get access to the cistern as there is a leak into the pan making me think the syphon may need replacing but I would like to look of course....

Either the ring will unscrew or you will have to prise up the buttons and undo the screw under them.
