:D Hi everyone, just joined forum today, can you help??!! have moved in to a house with a painted ceiling in the kitchen, not sure of paint type,it is fine apart from the bit directly over the cooker the paint is flaking off in big bits and i can see the bare plaster underneath , i want to repaint whats the best way of going about this so it dosent happen again? thanks .
Hi, no not greesey marks just paint peeling I guess due to the steem coming from boiling veg etc, I was thiking of using a proper kitchen/bathroom paint on ceiling but wondered if i needed a specil undercoat on top of plaster beforehand
The plaster should have had a top coat. 70/40 water. a vynal matt is more than enough i have used it for years and never had any problems even in my bathroom which gets really steamy when the shower is on. Proper prep should mean a good life expectancy.
