Kitchen splashback

Want to provide a tile splash back behind the electric hob. How can i get a clean finish between tiles and oak worktop. Done one before in our old house but noticed the grouting started to go a dirty grey. Think it was from the oil in the worktop seeping into the white grout.

Try either a clear silicone or a colour match silicone.

not sure if silicone will work though - i tried to silicone an oiled oak worktop last year, it didn't take. i had to peel it all off (well it actually picked itself off!) silicone does not seem to like the oils.

i used clear silicone, after 3 days it had turned milky white and lifted off. a pigmented silicone might work better i suppose.
