High gloss effect panels in sliding wardrobe door

by 123456 » Sat Dec 11, 2010 4:52 am

Hi all. I am in the process of making some sliding wardrobe doors for the spare room but with white panels. I have looked around for tips already on achieving this finish and it seems to be at the cost of either painstaking patience (thining and layering) or a lot of money.

I wondered whether, given that it is only the panels I want in a gloss finish, it might possible to buy thin plastic panelling to give a similar effect. Does anyone know whether this is possible, the most appropriate products, and whether it will work out being a cost effective way to go?

Hi,maybe you could use plastic cladding(room liner).
The ceiling liner in about 300 mm wide by 8ft long, with a high gloss finish ,they basically slip into one another .You could then silicone them to
a thin ply backboard .They cost approx £15 a board .The joins are hardly visable .Hope this helps.
