insulating concrete roof and single skin brick walls

does any one no how to insulate a concrete roof internaly as i want to turn my shed in to another room and looking for advise on this one as it also tends to get damp in the winter as well and insulating a single skin brick wall as well any help please.

Hi,

As you are looking at insulating internally (cold flat roof) you would need to provide some ventilation between the insulation and the concrete deck to remove any potential condensation build up. By fixing 50mm battens to the concrete you could then either use an insulated plasterboard or rigid board insulation to the underside. For the solid wall again an insulated plasterboard fixed to a minimum 25mm treated timber batten would do the job. Kingspan Insulations Kooltherm K18 maybe an option or the Thermapitch TP10.

you can fix 50x25mm thick tanalised battens and sprayfoam in between.sprayfoam is water resistant so it will eliminate damp bridging
