Merging rooms

by Kay321 » Wed Jul 20, 2011 9:19 pm

Hi, we are hoping to purchase a new property which currently has a lounge diner, utility room and seperate bathroom and W/C. If we go a head with the purchase we'd like to remove the wall between the kitchen and utility room to create a kitchen diner and remove the wall between the bathroom and toilet (an resight the door) to creat a large bathroom.
Does anyone have any tips or advice about this and do you think i would need permission to do it? Also i've been advised that the walls are not supporting/load bearing so do we need them removed by a builder or could we do the work ourselves? Thanks for your help!! :P

Check with building control at the local council first,if he says ok then you can remove it yourselves
