leaking tiled shower cubicle

by russellfl » Tue Aug 23, 2011 5:59 pm

Hi, can anyone help?

I've recently re-tiled my shower cubicle and i'm now getting damp in the adjoining rooms flooring. I took the old tiles off and retiled it using a waterproof grout. The walls are all studwork so it is leaking through the plasterboard. Should I have sealed the walls with something prior to tiling? and is there anytype of sealant I can paint over the tiles now to stop the leak?
I know i'm a bit of a muppet as I should have thought this through before going ahead.

Any help will be much appreciated

russellfl,
Possibly the tray drops when someone stands on it, this then giving a break in the join where the tiles meet the tray. I assume you have used silicone sealant on the tile/tray join.
end
