Blocked guttering question?

by macdoodle » Thu Sep 22, 2011 3:02 pm

Hi I am new here but would very much appreciate some advice.
I had a new roof on my kitchen extension a year ago after a big leak. Since them we have had episodes of a few smaller leaks and I now have an increasing damp patch.
The last time the roofer/builder came, he replaced a cracked tile, and pointed out the back guttering was in a pretty dire straights.
He quoted me £750 to replace it - its a very small stretch but awkward access as a narrow 3 story mid townhouse with a back extension.

The roof is leaking again, and I've had a look, the guttering looks like its about to collapse :(
I have rung a couple of gutter clearing companies, one quoted me £60 on the phone, 2 are coming to quote on saturday.
Am waiting for the builder to come look at the roof..........again.

I cannot afford to replace the gutter just now (as in I really do not have the money).
Could it be the gutter?? Would it make a new roof leak :( How much do I push the builder on the roof, or do I accept my poor gutter maintenance is to blame :(

£750???? are you kidding me,its his responsibility he replaced the roof and its still leaking, the gutter could be a factor but hes taking you for a ride.
Can you take any pictures before he comes? And then after he repairs it ,to see what work he has done .
