Leaking Bath - around plug outlet

by 123Batfink » Sat Jun 30, 2007 12:25 pm

Hello
Our bath has been leaking for a few days, and I'm pretty sure that water seems to be leaking from around the rim of the plug outlet. Is it possible to remove these? If so, how? It appears that the plug itself has a nut of sorts in the middle, but I can't tell whether unscrewing this will remove the plug. I've not been able to get hold of the correct socket set yet (15mm) so I wanted to check here, before I went and bought one.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Bath leak

Well..........could be a couple of problems.........is the overflow from your bath sealed properly, thats where i would start. Is the pipe from the overflow connected properly to the bath waste at the base of the bath. You need to check them by water overflowing down the pipe. Then get hold of the waste assy under the bath and see if you can wiggle it a bit, if you can the best thing to do is to replace the waste assy with a new one, don't buy a cheap one as these are no good, go to a plumbers merchants and don't buy the cheapest here either. Good luck
