Insulating a bay window

by cameron » Tue Oct 11, 2011 1:41 pm

I have discovered that my large bay window is uninsualted below the window.

The construction is as follows from the inside out.

12mm Plaster board, approx 140mm studwork, external felt, tile battens and vertical tile hanging.

I can get to the void within the stud work by removing the internal window board and pooring in some loose fill insulation beads.

The question is. Will this lead to possible damp problems?

Thanks

if you use vermiculite, loose fill insulation you should not have any problems, and be able to insulate every little area.
