Bath Cracked, can I paint over it to waterproof it?

by sunni » Mon Jul 09, 2007 3:02 pm

Hi

Theres a small raised crack in my white bath about an inch wide, through it I can see a brown cardboard type material.
Can I get a special paint to paint over it to make it waterproof?

Any advice appreciated,

Many thanks
Sunni

I'm guessing your bath is fibreglass or plastic?

if its fibreglass and you can get access to the underside of the crack it maybe worth using some autorepair fibreglass/resin to strengthen the area to prevent leaking.

As to painting - I'm not sure how well the paint will adhere to the bath surface.
