Fixing Cast Iron fireplace to wall

by timmyw » Mon Nov 21, 2011 4:11 pm

Hi, i have a small cast iron fire place with 2 eyes on the back to secure it to the wall, i had planned on using eye anchor (Google "screwfix.com/p/eye-shield-anchor-m12-pack-of-5/92559") on the inside of the fire place and then using some sort or tie wrap to secure the two eyes together. Is there any form of wire tie wrap which can be tightened with a screw?
Or do you have any other suggestions for the best way to fix the fire surround to the wall?

quite a hard way to fix to the wall with eyelets on the back.using something like shield anchor wire type I can only think of inserting a pin through the eyelet on the fireplace so the eye of the bolt lays flat against the wall and cutting out the plaster and drill and fixing it to the wall using rawplug and screw.
