drive way drains

by jerry » Wed Jul 11, 2007 10:35 am

i need to install a drain in my drive to stop rain water pooling up. at the moment it just soaks away very slowly.at the moment my bath and sink waste feed into a fall pipe hopper that leads into the drain from my toilet. can the new drain in the drive go to the toilet drain or will it have to go to another drain for surface water. the drainage system on my property has not been altered in any way for at least 25 years

Hi,

Your drain probably is running into a soakaway somewhere, they do block up after time, you are not supposed to direct surface water down a foul drain,i would suggest digging up the drain and seeing it is blocked or the soakaway is blocked, perhaps you could divert into a ditch if you have one close by?
