About 12 months ago our next door neighbour was removed from their rented home by the environmental health because of excessive damp. Since then we have seen damp on our chimney breast the kind that looks like salt. I have had the plaster removed and waterproof sand and cement put on then replastered as suggested by my uncle a builder but when I paint it I am getting some fluffy bits which I assume is still damp. Also I have what looks like fungi in the corner near the skirting board. Could it be my neigbours fault? Could I have a claim against my neighbour? Also I have heard rain in the chimney could that be my problem and it be totally unrelated to my neighbour?
