Router for jointing kitchen worktops

by MadManMoon » Fri Dec 23, 2011 4:11 pm

In the instructions for the jointing jig I've got it tells me that I need to use a router with a 1/2" chuck.

I wondered why it specifies the chuck size and is it ok to use my 1/4" router with the correct size spacing bush and cuutter

MadManMoon,
The router bit will need to be about 75mm overall length, if you try using one with a 1/4 shank it will probably bend with all sorts of consequential damage. Don't even try it.
