Mixer taps

by RoyG » Fri Dec 30, 2011 1:07 pm

The downstairs cloakroom here has a small sink with a single hole mixer tap with a single lever. Forward and back to turn on and off, left and right for hot and cold.

It seems very prone to people not completely shutting it off. It needs to settle exactly in the detent and occasionally doesn't quite get there.

I was wondering it's possible to get something similar--single hole fitting mixer-- that's self-cancelling. I've looked but I haven't been able to find anything.

I'd be happy swapping the tap out but I really don't fancy replacing the bowl

Any ideas much appreciated

Most unusual. With most single lever mixer taps an up/down motion is used to switch the water on and off. Maybe there is something wrong with the tap you have as failing to close the tap is not a problem I have come across before.

Maybe simply changing the tap to a standard single lever may solve your problem.
