It appears that I am drawing air into the DHW through my DHW Vent pipe. When I am drawing water off from the bath or basin tap I have air and it splutters and reduces in pressure. I looked at the CWST and the vent pipe and it felt like air could be drawn into the system.

Any ideas?

find your washing machine connections and turn off the isolation valve. connect cold and hot valves together using a washing machine pipe. you will need to open the problem taps. turn on the isolation valves and wait for about 10 - 20 seconds and the trapped air should be dispersed. dont leave it like this for too long or you willl overfill the CWSC!!
check the angle of the hot feed pipe form the very top of your cylinder, it should rise away from the clinder, if it doesn't, that is the cause of our problem.

The problem is caused by the water coming out of the cylinder faster than it is going in thus pulling air down the expansion pipe and through to your taps.
If it has started doing this gradually getting worse over time, check the feed inlet at the bottom of the cylinder for a blockage or scale build up and replace the fitting if necessary. If it has always done this and has a 22mm feed to the cylinder then this should be upgraded to 28mm.
