Hi,
it's called a short circuit!! bet it went 'BANG' when u tried to operate sw?
If u look in 'projects' replacing a light its all there in colour.
Basically one of your blks is really a red!!!It should have been seperate from the other 2 Neutrals when u removed old fitting......
The cables u have are: 1=L+N into fitting, 2=L+N out to next light,
3=L to switch+ switched L back to light. [this is blk that should be red].
3 reds together BUT not connected to light, just in spare term block.
the Blk from sw. (marked red with tape for next time) goes to L of fitting.
the remaining 2 blks go to N of fitting. + earths of course. (3 but 2 may share sleeving), how you find which Blk is from sw. is up to you, but easiest way is to seperate them at light, temp. connect blk @ sw. to earth wire, and with multimeter, on continuity range test each blk in turn at light to earths one should show a zero reading, mark it with red tape, as above, reconnect sw, and light as above. regards SPARX
