upstairs window height Information, help and advice on many architecture, self build and design problems and issues

Hi all
Because the planners want me to make my extension roof lower than the main building, I am short of window height on the upper floor. This means I want the top of the window as near to the eaves as possible. Is there a lintel designed for this application, or how can I arrange it to get the maximum possible window height? I am working on a 300mm cavity wall.
