Hi
The wires for the lighting circuits run in old metal conduits. (if it has no PVC sheath, should it still called cable or do you call it wire?)
I am getting the wiring redone by an electrician as it is the old rubber coated stuff and the rubber feels hard. Should I ask for the conduit to be used, or is this in breach of modern regs?
I was just thinking it gave it a bit more protection in the loft.
Also, if it is in the conduit does it matter as much if there is insulation around it? At the moment it runs on top the insulation, which isn't thick enough.
Cheers
