Gravel drive options

by tallyblade » Fri Jul 13, 2012 11:12 am

Hi,

I'm looking at a couple of options for a gravel driveway but as my drive is on a reasonable incline (1:6) and will be fairly well trafficed I'm concerned that a traditional gravel on MOT1 will mean that the gravel will constantly migrate towards the road.

I've looked at a couple of alternative systems, just wondering if anyone has any experience of them good/bad/indifferent.

1) Ground reinforcement grids - such as Ecopave or Bodpave... seems a pretty easy system to install yourself just concerns me that the grid will always be visable in parts.

2) Resin Bound Pavings - such as Sureset. Finish looks great and durable but I can see this being a very expensive option.

Any feedback would be much appreciated.

Thanks

tarmac is reasonably priced. Also blockpaving, you can install yourself its relativly easy, you can always lay gravel in the centre to keep the cost down.
