Baxi Bermuda/Back Boiler

by jmcd » Fri Jul 27, 2007 9:51 am

I have a Baxi Bermuda Super GF fire (with back boiler) which I never use. My plan is to replace the back boiler with a combi and get rid of the fire, but I can't afford this just now. Is it possible to get the fire diconnected and removed leaving just the back boiler for the central heating and hot water ?

No, back boilers have to be installed with a gas fire fitted to it, its dangerous to have a back boiler with no firefront.

I'm assuming you want rid of the fire because it looks a mess.
You can still get baxi bermuda gas fire's but cost around £450 - £500 new. Whereas a combi boiler are only around £800 - £1000. There's not much point in replacing the fire front.
