Fixing to Asbestos Cement Board

by tread0211 » Thu Aug 23, 2012 4:56 pm

I am boxing in a 62mm dia. steel pole which supports the external porch at the front of my property. The ceiling of the porch consists of what I believe to be ACB. I am using 19 x 38 tile batten top and bottom to fix the boxwork to. I will naturally wear mask and goggles during the work and take care with all arisings. Will the ACB take a screw, or will it need to be drilled and plugged and if plugged, will this need to be plasterboard fixings (butterflys or other)??? The boxing is 12mm external ply joined with tile batten at internal corners.
Would appreciate any help.
