Removing heat marks and water rings from parquet flooring

by amyt » Mon Mar 19, 2007 12:51 pm

How can I remove heat marks and water rings from parquet flooring?

I rather stupidly ironed some curtains on my lovely dark wood parquet flooring and it has caused white heat marks to appear.

The floors are fairly worn looking anyway but I really don't want to have to replace the whole floor. Are there any products I can buy like a coloured
wax or stain remover to restore the colour?

They are not varnished so much as matt so I hoping this will make it easier to remove.

Desperately seeking a solution or will have to re-do entire living room! Any suggestions gratefully recieved.

Hi

You have probably sorted this out by now, however you could try putting a piece of paper kitchen towel over the marked area, then a clean tea towel and then use a COOL TO WARM, iron and slowly warm the area, checking frequently, this should draw out the moisture. This seems to work on tables when I had a similar problem
