Coaxial cable male/female sockets - HELP! BLONDE ALERT! Ask questions and find answers to many subjects relating to electrics and electrical work

Hi everyone.

Just moved into a new flat my tv used to plug in to a male socket and has a female cable now it's the opposite - i've tried everywhere to get a converter but they only do female to male and I need the opposite and a longer cable - Tried 3 shops now!

I've now bought 10m of coaxial cable and a pack of termination connectors.

I am a total blonde and have no idea what to do with them - do I need special crimping tools or is there something I can buy to just make it work.

Please help me - :(

RF plugs are easy enough to fit....just strip the end and it screws tight into the plug You can buy them loose from anywhere, but if you have a Maplin nearby, they sell just about anything.

Go into one of their stores or look online, you should be able to get anything you need.

I did look at the tutorial on here but it looks nothing like the connectors I bought!

damn it!

All i want is a premade cable with different ends on it - surely B&Q need to buy into women with 50" plasmas and no DIY skills whatsoever!

Below is the Screwfix direct link taken from DIYDOCTORS toolshop page. You can either order online - order before 6pm and they have it with you next day. You may even be lucky enough to live near a trade centre (listed on website). You will be served within 2 minutes from my experience.

They should have everything you need, they have several cables. If the link doesn't get posted, then google screwfix or look in the toolshop section on here.

Have you tried fluttering your eyelashes at your nearest satellite/ aerial installer, it may get you exactly what you want,(the correct cable that is.) :lol: It used to work on me all the time!
