My basin hole is too small ??????

by bunny1072 » Tue May 07, 2013 12:22 pm

I'm trying to fit a mono mixer tap to our cloakroom style basin but the tap hole is too small for both the bracket and connecter hoses to go through . Is there another way I can fit it or do i get a new basin???

Sometimes you have to connect the pipes after fitting the tap loosely to the basin instead of trying to feed everything through the hole in the basin.

Having said that, some foreign manufactured basins won't take a standard UK tap. I have come across that problem before.

A normal basin mixer tap hole is in the region of 35mm in diameter. If the hole in your basin is significantly smaller, then the basin is not a standard UK size. If it is 35mm, then maybe the tap is a non standard size.

AFAIK, there is only one standard size in the UK.
