Hi to all, I need to touch up parts of my cottage and am not sure what paint/method to use. It is an early 1800s cottage, rubble construction. It's painted white with black around the windows. Some paint is peeling, and in a couple of places the stone is exposed.
1) do I need to treat the exposed stone before painting it?
2) what paint do I use?

I will be patching it up rather than stripping the whole house.

I would use lime wash, lime mixed with water

Would it be ok to overlap on the other existing paint, whatever it is? House is pure white, would lime wash match and do you use it lIke any normal paint? Thanks and sorry to ask so many questions but never used like before.

lime wash will dry pure white and will stick to anything consistency should be like clotted cream, no preparation required
