Grout And Cement Residue On Enamel Bath

by Jess1485 » Fri Oct 04, 2013 12:26 pm

My bath has clearly been used, when the bathroom was being refurbed, as a place to hold grout or mix some sort of concrete. The result is a rough discoloured surface.

I would be grateful for any advice on how to remove this.

Hi Jess1485
I'm going to suggest the use of a normal lime scale remover of the type in any supermarket - Viakal, Limelite, or similar. Just spray on and leave to work. Any product that works with scale should be able to soften cement to some degree, and must be worth a try. Another product that may work is distilled vinegar.

There are more powerful products out there, but their use may involve some danger.

Let's know how you get on.

Hi

Thanks for the great advice. Viakal worked a treat and the bath is fine. I will not need to get it re-enamelled after all.

Regards.
