Reduced Flow From Bathroom Sink and Bath Taps Since New Install

by Murraymint » Sun Oct 13, 2013 2:56 pm

Some time ago we installed a new bathroom that included new taps on the sink and bath. We noticed almost straight away that the flow from the taps was not as good as before, I have been told that there are different types of taps for gravity fed and mains fed and that this could affect the flow, I should add that then the plumbing was installed, isolator ball valves were fitted to the feeds, my question is, could these ball valves reduce the flow, are there different types?

Thanks in advance fir any help.

Hi
Yes, it's quite possible that those valves are the cause of your problem. Nip into your local store or plumbers merchants, and take a look at the internal bore. fortunately they can be obtained in a full bore version.
