External Damp Where Wall Meets Floor - Damp Seems To Be Coming From Under Roof

by gavski » Mon Nov 11, 2013 3:32 pm

I have a some damp where an external wall meets the floor (1950s semi)
The damp course in the wall seems intact and the damp seems to be coming from under the floor rather than the wall, some of the concrete floor is also crumbling a bit.
It is only a small patch.
Is there a simple solution (product) to address this.
Can i use some injection cream in the floor or would liquid DCM be better,
thanks

Dont inject anything. And dont do anything else until you know the cause of whats happening - and where it's happening.

If you go back and search some of the old posts you will find lots of useful information about similar issues. They will help you to provide more details ( & pics please) so that you can be helped on here.

Details such as: is there a membrane under the concrete slab?
Is there underfloor heating in place?
could damp be penetrating from outside?
is the skirting board damp/soggy?
is the wall decoration stained or irregular?
any rads or plumbing nearby?
how do you know that its only this particular spot - is the whole concrete surface exposed?

Hi gavski

Apologies, was just trying to get your posts as much exposure as possible and deducted from the initial post that your issue was possibly stemming from the roof area?

Kind Regards
