i have just purchased a digital thermastat byc08he
i want to connect this in place of a sunvic tlm
there is brown black and grey now i know i will not use the grey
because this is for thermal strip in the sunvic
ac is connected into the unit to power the l e d unit, then there is the output
load but the output load would be connected to the mains brown 240volt
is this still ok to connect. because this is live anyway so in a way there is
onley two connections to make brown and black , which if you connected
them together would switch the boiler on

I'm a little concerned here, The Sunvic TLM is a high current rated thermostat, so what is it controlling ? and which TLM model is it ?
I have no information on the digital model - c08he who are they, and what is it's rating ?

If you have the H3 model, I believe you can switch up to a 16A load:

it,s switching my central heating boiler ( the byco8 looks like same diagram
and will switch 16 amp
and the thermastat thats already in is a sunvic tlm 2628 13 to amp
as i said the brown wire on the TLM has 240volt coming from it anyway
would it still be ok to connect this to the load on the digital thermastat output

Is it a combi boiler? Or is it a system boiler with zone valves and an external pump etc?

The TLM2628 has 20A rated contacts.

If it is just switching a combi boiler, the BYC08 will be fine.

This document shows the terminal connections for the Sunvic TLM2000 series room thermostats:

You will need to identify which wire is permanent Live (phase), permanent Neutral and Switched Live to the boiler. Use the diagram in the above link to help you identify which wires are which. The Sunvic room thermostat has an anticipator hence the requirement for a neutral too.

The wiring to the BYC08 will depend on which model you have H1 or H3.
