Replacing a Fence With a Brick Wall - Is Planning Permission Needed?

by polypody » Wed Feb 26, 2014 10:02 pm

My neighbour & I wish to replace two 6' sq fence panels with a brick wall 6'H x 12' in length. This would be at the end of my driveway dividing our properties. Neither house is listed. Would we need planning permission please?

it depends on a number of factors, if a neighbor objects the council may ask you to remove it.
Its best to make a small plan of the proposed wall including height, length thickness, the type of brick color etc and take it to the planning office for approval, best to be safe than sorry
