Replacing Old Radiator 1940mm(w) with 1800mm(w) - Help and Advice Required All aspects of plumbing questions and answers, help, tips and information

i want to buy radiator from you but need help to decide. my old radiator size is 1940mm (W) and my pipe gap is 2000mm(W) (plz see the pictures attached). the pipes are steel pipes


should i buy 2000mm or 1800mm??
1) if i buy 1800mm i will be left with 200mm gap (100mm on each side) ?
2) if i buy 2000mm will be struggling to fit the radiator valve?
3) what is the recommended minimum gap beteen the radiator valve and radiator ?

From your photo, those are copper pipes, not steel. A radiator is sized according to it's output, calculated on the requirements of the room.
I can't see from the photo if this rad is just two panels, or if it has convector fins in between. You may find that if you upgrade to a convector type, the size can be reduced and give the same output. I'm taking a guess that this rad is 600 high, in which case you're looking at around 2300 W output if not a convector.

So, I would suggest getting the correct output for the room, and making alterations to the pipework.
