I have made a Propagating Box for my Pelargonium cuttings.
The bottom heat is provided by 2 x 11 Watt bulbs.
I need to control the heat at 21 degrees 'C' so I plan to use a rod type Thermostat that will fit just below the tray holding the cuttings.
It is a ' BACKER BACKERSAFE STANDARD THERMOSTAT ROD STAT 7" ' which I believe is for controlling the heat in domestic hot water boilers.
Will this be OK?

Hi

In a word, no. This is an immersion heater thermostat, and will not control at such a low temperature. Probably the lowest it would go to would be 40 degrees.
I have to say that I'm a little concerned with the electrical safety of this project. Components like this thermostat are designed to be in a fully enclosed appliance housing, and would only be considered safe if used as intended.

I chose this Thermostat because the control range is 15 to 65 degrees 'C'
However, I will heed your advice and see what else I can get.
If you have any ideas I would be most grateful.
The box will be used in the house and will NOT be in any contact with water.
