Celotex CW4060 or GA4060 for Cavity Walls - Both Seem to be Similar?

by collectors » Fri Jun 06, 2014 4:01 pm

Hi, got an insulation query for brick outer & block inner cavity walls. It looks like we need Celotex CW4060 60mm x 1200mm x 450mm slabs to do this which will cost thousands for a total wall area of 30x2.4 meters.
But Celotex also sell 60mm x 1200mm x 2400mm GA4060 that will only cost hundreds to cover the same area & it says its for all areas (wall, floor, ceiling) . both will give the same UV .
Can anyone through any light on this.
Also can you say how this is signed off by the local DS.

Thanks

you will need to show the technical data to the building control officer he will decide, if the U value is the same I cant see the problem

Have you looked for alternative insulation if the current options are seeming too expensive? That is quite odd to say the very least, they give you the same UV but one is cheaper and one is more expensive? No sense is made in my mind.

These guys sell a variety of insulation (recently insulated my roof and walls) and have had only positive experiences using these guys, wish you all the luck!

Do you have a link to the CW4060 and GA4060 specifications that I can have a look at so I can attempt to identify why one is cheaper than the other? Also, have you checked out ProRox, Actis or Kingspan brands of insulation? Google them!
