Toilet stinks of pee! All aspects of plumbing questions and answers, help, tips and information

I noticed last week that the toilet smells a bit. Its separate from the bathroom. At first I thought my 4yr old may have pee'd on the carpet so I took it up and gave it a good clean. I've not put it back yet but the toilet area still smells.

Could this be a leak or something? I dont really know where to start. Maybe get a police dog to sniff out the offending area!

hi if you are an inch high there's the problem .. seriously if floor is wood then this will hold the smell sometimes concrete will do the same bleach is pretty good all this assumes there is no cracking of the china ware all the best john

It is a wooden floor, I've taken the carpet up and sanded them down today to take the layer of dirt off the top.

There is some limescale, I'll get some limescale remover and scrub it with the girlfriends toothbrush!
