Masonry Partitions on Timber Floorboards - How to Insulate Underneath Floorboards?

by simonL » Mon Sep 15, 2014 4:17 pm

I have recently bought a 1930's semi and want to insulate the GF. I have discovered the masonry non-loading bearing partitions are built off the floorboards. They are NOT located directly over floor joists which run in the same direction.

How do I get these floor boards out to allow access underneath to insulate without having to knock the wall down?

Is there enough space under the gf to cut an access hatch and put in rigid foam insulation from below?
