DIY Damp Proof Course - Cream or Dryrod, Which is Best?

by mcanchr » Sat Sep 27, 2014 12:56 pm

Wondered if anyone can advise? I am about to repair my DPC in my Victorian Semi. It is only one corner of the house that seems to be damp. I can get access under the floor in the cellar and house is raised up so top of cellar is above ground level. So job should be quite easy with no need to remove plaster in room above. I have looked into the DIY creams that are on the market but I have also come across dry rod (http://www.safeguardeurope.com/products ... g-rods.php), and wondered if anyone has used this product as opposed to the creams? Any pros and cons? It does seem quite expensive but is it any better?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Welsh brickie. Any reason behind that? Have you used either type?
